Mr. Taylor graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in April 2006.
Mr. Taylor began his Public Accounting career in 2001 working on a per diem basis for an Oakville Chartered Accountant. In 2003 he moved to BDO Dunwoody, where he focused on owner-managed businesses, as well as audits of government agencies, hospitals, and large private enterprises. In 2006 he relocated to a mid-sized Mississauga CA firm as a Senior Manager. In 2007 Mr. Taylor decided it was time to move out on his own, at which time he started a successful Management Consulting Firm. It was during this period that he took on the role of Director of Finance for a medical research company. This position saw Mr. Taylor dealing with the top financial personnel at some of the World’s largest drug manufacturers on a daily basis.
Mr. Taylor's career encountered a turning point in June 2008. It was at this time he was offered an opportunity to work for a multi-billion dollar waste management company, Progressive Waste Solutions (formerly BFI Canada), as their Assistant Corporate Controller. Although this was only a contract position, the insight and experience gained were very important to Mr. Taylor’s growth as a CA. It also made Mr. Taylor very much aware that his true passion and desire was in Public Accounting, working with smaller owner-managed companies. Realizing this, in January 2011, Mr. Taylor took the final step of his career moving to Doxsee & Co. (formerly Doxsee & Shimizu) in the role of Manager where his day-to-day duties involve overseeing and working with clients in the areas of accounting and tax services.
In his spare time Mr. Taylor enjoys playing golf, watching and attending University of Michigan football games (GO BLUE!), travel, attending live musical productions, spontaneous road trips, playing chess, going to the movies and listening to music.
Mr. Taylor resides in Burlington, Ontario.
